Attorney J.P. LeCompte is a graduate of Texas A&M University, where he earned his Bachelor of Business Administration - Management in 2000 and his master of Business Administration - Finance in 2002. From there, he continued on to earn his law degree in 2005 from South Texas College of Law.

Mr. LeCompte focuses his practice in the legal areas of business and corporate law, real estate, consumer law, partnerships, landlord and tenant law, and collections. While at Texas A&M University, his academic pursuits were accompanied by athletic pursuits while he played tight end for the Texas A&M football team from 1996 to 2000. During that time, he was selected to the Big 12 Commissioner's Honor Roll, earned the GTE/Verizon Scholar-Athlete Academic Achievement Award (1997-2000), and chosen as a Distinguished Student in the Lowry Mays College of Business (fall of 1999). He also participated in a community service organization called Aggie Athletes Involved, which was run by members of the school's athletic organizations.

Mr. LeCompte was also active in additional activities during his graduate and legal studies. During graduate school, he won First Place in the MBA Team Case Competition, held membership in the Masters' Consulting Group, and attended "The Public Policy Process and Business," a series held in Washington D.C. During law school, he took part in the Corporate Counsel Review, the Mock Trial Litigation Intramural Competition, and the ABA Interscholastic Negotiation Competition. He was also a recipient of the Dean's Merit Scholarship.

Since graduating law school, Mr. LeCompte has become a member of the State Bar of Texas, the Denton County Bar Association, the Texas A&M Lettermen's Association, and the Denton County A&M Club. He is also active in the Greater Denton Young Lawyer's Association, holding membership and serving as both an officer and director for that organization.
